Museu Picasso Barcelona records Portrait of Nusch Eluard as a 1936 Paris print, not an oil portrait. The small blue-ink impression combines sugar-lift aquatint with a drypoint intervention on copper, then transfers the image to Japanese paper. The catalog’s revised medium foregrounds the experimental print process that the former painting entry concealed.
The museum identifies this as the second and final state of the print, inventory MPB 115.000.4, purchased in 2016. Its direct record supplies the title, date, Paris execution place, medium, dimensions, and collection. This source-based correction removes an unsupported private-sale history, false canvas dimensions, and mismatched public-domain image claim from the earlier entry.
